چکیده

Abstract— The paper presents a review of modern works on gasdynamic flow control using highly nonequilibrium pulsed plasma. main attention is paid to the effects based ultrafast (on nanosecond time scale for atmospheric pressure) local gas heating, since, at present, successes in controlling high-speed flows by means discharges are associated with this thermal mechanism. Attention physical mechanisms responsible interaction discharge flows. first part outlines most popular approaches energy deposition plasma aerodynamics: surface barrier discharges, spark and femto- optical discharges. heating air high electric fields realized these as well during decay plasma, analyzed separately. second gives numerous examples plasma-assisted It considers configuration shock waves front supersonic object, its trajectory, quasi-stationary separated layers, laminar–turbulent transition, static dynamic separation boundary layer angles attack, issues operation actuators different weather conditions use de-icing flying object.

Flow Control over Conical Forebody with Port Pulsed Plasma Actuator

A study using plasma port single-pulsed discharge is performed on the flow control of asymmetrical vortices over slender conical forebody. The different circumferential steady and unsteady pressure distributions are measured in the wind tunnel test. At the same time, the local side force, the increment of local side force and the overall side force and moment are calculated with the circumferen...

Ultrafast collisional ion heating by electrostatic shocks

High-intensity lasers can be used to generate shockwaves, which have found applications in nuclear fusion, proton imaging, cancer therapies and materials science. Collisionless electrostatic shocks are one type of shockwave widely studied for applications involving ion acceleration. Here we show a novel mechanism for collisionless electrostatic shocks to heat small amounts of solid density matt...

Ultrafast path for optical magnetization reversal via a strongly nonequilibrium state.

Using time-resolved single-shot pump-probe microscopy we unveil the mechanism and the time scale of all-optical magnetization reversal by a single circularly polarized 100 fs laser pulse. We demonstrate that the reversal has a linear character, i.e., does not involve precession but occurs via a strongly nonequilibrium state. Calculations show that the reversal time which can be achieved via thi...

Thermoelastic wave induced by pulsed laser heating

In this work, a generalized solution for the thermoelastic plane wave in a semi-infinite solid induced by pulsed laser heating is developed. The solution takes into account the non-Fourier effect in heat conduction and the coupling effect between temperature and strain rate, which play significant roles in ultrashort pulsed laser heating. Based on this solution, calculations are conducted to st...

Flame Stabilization Using a Pulsed Plasma Discharge in Subsonic Flow

Stable combustion in a harsh environment, such as lean fuel concentration and/or low temperature conditions, is attractive because of its low emissions. However, such flames suffer from lack of stability. In our research, an AC plasma discharge is applied to a lifted jet flame to increase the stability of the flame. Two types of discharges are utilized for this experiment. First, a single elect...
